Curiosità: in 1473 the Franciscans of Perugia commissioned Pietro Vannucci and others to decorate two panels – with a total of eight painted tablets – which closed off a niche holding the statue of the saint in the oratory of San Bernardino. At least five artists took part in the undertaking, including some very prestigious names who all adhered to the same style. The work is generally attributed to il Perugino.
